NUMEROLOGY

To determine the “map” corresponding to our date of birth, we count back from the year 2000, when we have 9 in the centre of the chart. For instance, if a person’s DOB is 7 April 1964 and we count backwards to 1964, we’ll find 9 in the centre again. According to the DOB, the number we have in the centre of the chart is a person’s Principle Number.
But there’s also an easier way to compute the Principle Number: If we consider the DOB of 14 March 1952, for example, then:

1+9+5+2=17=1+7=8

We subtract this number from 11,

11-8=3

So 3 is the Principle Number, and it doesn’t matter if the person is male or female. A man (Yang) moves forward, while a woman (Yin) moves backward, but in the Japanese system of the 9 Star Ki there is a concept that says any human being contains both Yin and Yang and that we, as human beings, always move forward. This means anyone born in the year 1952 has 3 as their Principle Number.

What Does Each Number Mean?

One: Kan, water. There are two types of water – still water and running water. Still waters run deep. These types are shy and secretive, while their emotions go through intense mood shifts. They know a little about everything. Some of them always complain and hate to be ordered around. It’s difficult for them to finish what they start.
Running water types like to stir things up. They are powerful, highly independent, and love to travel. People with Principle Number 1 must take care not to become too isolated, because 1 is the loneliest number.

Two: Kun, earth. Two represents the mother (trigram), a charge of energy, tactfulness, honesty and loyalty. These people always find a shorter and easier way to do their work. They are protective and conservative. The women of this type tend to treat their lovers like children. Number 2 types are kind and collected. They build their life slowly, but surely.

Three: Chen, forest, spring. These types have a tremendous energy and a youthful behaviour. They may have younger partners, and they love to try out new things. But they also get bored quickly and then move on. They are trendsetters possessed of a hot temperament. They may have a tendency to overspend. It would be a good idea for them to keep away from alcohol and drugs, because they are prone to addiction.

Four: Hsun, the grown forest. These people are practical, stubborn, and vulnerable in the love stakes. Their personality is like the wind – always changing direction, difficult to understand. They are undecided, and this makes them lose out on many opportunities. They are resistant to change, sensitive, good listeners, and charismatic. They can be good musicians, artists, or advisors.

Five: Tai Chi, earth, power, and leadership. They are the heart and soul of an organization. The men of this type can be womanisers, while the females tend to indulge their spouses. They are usually surrounded by many people depending on them, but they like to take these people in their care. They have very good practical skills. They usually receive help from strangers. They can be good politicians, court judges, or officers.

Six: Chyan, metal. These types are very proficient and punctual. People usually fear them, because they have difficulty relating to others. Their speech is harsh, and they are possessed of a very strong will. They may mentor someone initially, but then that person could become their slave. They can be good lawyers, psychologists, or realtors.

Seven: Dui, raw metal. These are charming, sociable types who like to enjoy life to the fullest. They are not very talkative, but they will however go to great lengths to get what they want, even if this should cost them their dignity. They do not like to share their belongings. They love luxury.

Eight: Ken, earth. These types are nice people who like to tell jokes and are born with beautiful, nearly perfect physical features. They have a dramatic look in their eyes and they tend to be very demanding of others. They can make good comedians, scientists, lawyers, or editors.

Nine: Li, fire. These types are kind to any and everyone, and they have a good reputation. They are very mindful about how they come across, and they strive to be in the limelight. They are very proud; they have an air of superiority and an impulsive behaviour that can determine others to brush them off. They can work in show business, or they can be designers or politicians.

Special Way to Compute Your KUA Number

You need to learn as much as possible about numbers and the way they’re connected to Feng Shui so that you’ll be able to choose the best possible changes to make in order to attain your goals faster, and to begin to create a better life for yourself.
You can begin today, right now. It’s easier than you can imagine.
The potential of this is boundless, easily within reach, and utterly inexpensive.
Should you have any doubts or questions, please go to a professional for advice.
The ancient Chinese believed that the Universe is based on mathematical principles. Numbers were the key to the unseen forces governing Heaven and Earth.
For instance, the numerical arrangements on the tortoise’s back and the ones of the Lo Shu square give us a total of 15 when summed up in any direction (row, column, or diagonal).
If we sum up the rows, we get:
3 + 5 + 7 = 15
If we sum up the diagonal, we get:
4 + 5 +6 = 15
If we sum up the columns, we get:
2 + 7 + 6 = 15
The Pa-kua/LoShu theory deals with auspicious and inauspicious directions, which are different for different people. To find out your propitious and your unfavourable locations you need to compute your Kua number. This is done differently for males and females. Thus to compute the Kua number for a man, you:
Add up the last two digits in his birth year. For example

For men:
-if a man is born in 1977 the sum of the last two digits is 14. If the sum is a two-digit number, like in our case here, you add up the two digits: 1+4= 5. In the Feng Shui system, we don’t use the number 5, and the men who get this number will use 2 instead. You subtract this result from 10. In our example,

10 –2 = 8. The Kua number is 8.

For women:

- if a woman is born in 1977 you add up the last two digits of her birth year: 7+7= 14, and 1+4= 5, respectively. Women who get 5 as their result will replace this with 8. Hence the final result here is 8.

You add this number with 5, so 8+5= 13, and further 1+3= 4.

So the Kua number is 4.

A person’s Kua number indicates their most auspicious direction. When you’re looking to buy a house, you pick a residence that has its front door facing the right direction for you.

For men:

Kua number 1: Southeast

Kua number 2: Northeast

Kua number 3: South

Kua number 4: North

Kua number 5: Northeast

Kua number 6: West

Kua number 7: Northwest

Kua number 8: Southwest

Kua number 9: East

For women:

Kua number 1: Southeast

Kua number 2: Northeast

Kua number 3: South

Kua number 4: North

Kua number 5: Northeast

Kua number 6: West

Kua number 7: Northwest

Kua number 8: Southwest

Kua number 9: East

I’ll give you another example, for a better understanding:

.- woman born in 1955. You compute as follows:

5+5= 10; you get a two-digit number. Hence 1+0=1; you get a single-digit number.

You add this number with 5: 1+5=6. So her Kua number is 6, while her auspicious direction is West. A house would have a good location for this person if its main door were facing West.

-man born in 1947:

4+7= 11;
1+1= 2;

-for males, you subtract the result from 10:

10-2= 8; so the auspicious direction is Southwest.
